Malaysia's Chinatown, the renown Petaling Street, is the shoppers' paradise where visitors could bargain your way to cheap products or even counterfeit goods. :P

Besides bargain hunting along the many stalls at Petaling Street, there is another interesting activity to do here, coffee hunting. :)

One street away from Petaling Street, there is a cozy cafe along Jalan Sultan that is relatively hidden from sight. Located above Kedai Runcit Shong Lye Trading, Coffee Amo shares the second floor unit with Petaling Street Art House, an art centre which shelters furnitures from the now-closed Hotel Lok Ann, and lots of other artifacts and heritage items that originates from this area.

In the name of fun, refrain yourself from using the Google Map or GPS coordinate embedded on this page, but wander the streets and enjoy the heritage, culture and history of this community. Arriving at the location, walk up the stairs beside Kedai Runcit Shong Lye Trading and admire the treasure trove placed around Petaling Street Art House before walking through the door to your final destination, Coffee Amo.

Reward yourselves for your coffee hunting achievement with a good cuppa joe here. Coffee Amo uses Musetti beans, and the many coffee bean cans that are placed near the counter is a good indicator of how many excellent coffee this cafe has served. :)

Besides the espresso-based coffees, Coffee Amo serves cold brew and single origins too (brewed using hand drip or syphon). The cold brew here has a distinguished woody flavor, personally one of my favourite cold brew thus far.

One of Kuala Lumpur's hidden cafe located in KL heritage area, Petaling Street. Relatively out of sight with only small signboards, Coffee Amo rewards patrons who manage to find their location with a good cuppa coffee.
