~ Collaboration at its best ~

Environment:

Once upon a time there were a few friends, born in year 1986, decided to utilize their unique skill sets and start their own businesses. Among them were hairstylists, baristas, face spa therapists, and pedicurists. But to start their individual businesses, they were required to find a place to start their individual operations, and let's face it, it is pretty expensive to rent a place in Malaysian cities nowadays.

To overcome this huddle, these entrepreneurs decided to join forces and obtained a whole 3-storey commercial shop unit, and that was how the 1986 collaboration was founded! On the ground floor there is the 1986 hair saloon, on the second floor is the 1986 hair spa, and on the first floor is the 1986 nail studio and our main focus, the Cafe 1986!

The first floor is divided into 3 areas: the café - which is facing the front road, the nail studio - in the middle of the floor, and behind the nail studio is the café's kitchen. As you can imagine, this café is small in size compared to other nearby cafés. But with the right interior designing and furnishing, it makes the café looks cute rather than small.

There is a balcony, carpeted with artificial grass for those who prefer the Malaysian temperature (or smokers).

Coffee-themed shirts are available for sale on the shelf. Check with the waitress if you are interested to get one.

Food & Beverage:
The menu in Cafe 1986 ranges from western food (such as burgers, spaghetti, pizzas, tapas, salads) to local dishes (such as curry chicken rice, fried rice, ramen). I recommend trying their burgers and spaghetti.

The coffee here is quite good too. Cafe 1986 recommends you to try sipping the creamy steamed milk before adding any sugar, as well-steamed milk should be sweet enough to compliment the coffee. The milk's creamy texture is thanks to the micro bubbles that are skillfully steamed into the milk. Try it out :)

For cakes, try their best seller, the mango cake. It is a sponge cake with cubes of mango inside, filled with rich mango cream.

Verdict:

Cute place to hangout in Klang, and very convenient for girls who wants a makeover (hair, nails, and facial). For food, try their burgers and spaghetti. And sip their coffee without adding sugar first! :)
